The 2022 Ford Explorer has ample power for merging into traffic. It comes standard with a 300-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but two V6 motors are available that produce as much as 400 horsepower. An Explorer hybrid variant makes 318 horsepower. Rear-wheel drive comes standard on the Explorer, but all-wheel drive is available. When properly equipped, the Explorer can tow up to 5,600 pounds.
